Cherohala—known around the farm as Jaba—is a 2014 Thoroughbred mare who melts hearts the moment you meet her. Smaller in frame and younger than many of our herd, she has the look and sweetness that would have made her an adorable children’s hunter. But her true calling is motherhood.

Jaba joined ColdSpring in 2022 and has since raised three orphan foals, each one thriving under her kind, gentle care. She is the definition of an in-your-pocket mare—soft, sweet, affectionate, and always ready to nuzzle up for attention.

What she may lack in size, she more than makes up for in heart. Jaba is steady, nurturing, and wonderfully intuitive with her babies.
