Market Price—known simply as Market around the barn—is a 2005 Canadian-bred Thoroughbred mare with a long, accomplished career as a broodmare, having produced eight foals of her own before joining us. While her racing career earned only $3,176, motherhood has always suited her far better—and that gift translates perfectly into her role as a nursemare.

She came to ColdSpring in 2024 and has since raised two orphan foals, stepping into her new job with the quiet competence of a mare who knows exactly what she’s doing. Market is the proud owner of the largest udder of any Thoroughbred mare in our program—this girl has milk for days.
